Wound care basics

  • Keep the dressing dry unless told otherwise
  • Wash hands before touching the site
  • Take pain medicine on schedule for the first day or two

Call us if you notice

Increasing redness, pus, fever, uncontrolled pain or bleeding that soaks through the dressing.

If you cannot reach the clinic and symptoms worsen quickly, use the emergency unit.
